Sarah Jessie Tucker is a trauma-aware grant writer, editor, poet, and certified Cultivating Safe Spaces facilitator. She is the founder of SJT Writing, where she supports changemakers and creatives through strategic grant planning, proposal writing and storytelling services grounded in empathy and purpose.
With over 13 years of experience in proposal writing, from litigation negotiations to fundraising, Sarah has worked with leaders in Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. Having lived across the country, Sarah has an understanding that there are complexities unique to each territory. Her facilitation is deeply informed by over a decade of personal healing, including surviving suicide loss and childhood trauma. Her extensive genealogical research into her settler ancestry from St. Philips, Newfoundland, and Toronto led to a deeper understanding of her complex heritage, which includes roots in England, Ireland, and Scotland. Discovering that she’s a 7th-generation settler has deepened Sarah’s commitment to truth and reconciliation.
In her CSS workshops, Sarah focuses on cultivating a sense of belonging, connection, and safety within teams and organizations. She serves as a translator of perspectives, helping participants navigate the CSS framework to reduce burnout and strengthen collaboration. Her facilitation style is adaptive, intuitive, and rooted in care.
Sarah is dedicated to creating environments where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered to lead with authenticity and compassion. She is currently open to travelling to any part of the country.
