I work in post-secondary, health, wellness, and early childhood development supporting decolonial approaches for teaching and learning. My background is in place-based education with a focus on privileging local Indigenous knowledge as a starting point for all curriculum development. I have lived in various parts of Northern BC for most of my life and understand the complex beauty of this place that feels like home to me. I value relational approaches and finding connections as a starting place for working together. Cultivating Safe Spaces has given me a meaningful tool for working with in colonial systems. It has empowered me to aligning my values in everything I do and genuinely practice understanding myself and how I show up every day. I love sharing stories about how Cultivating Safe Spaces framework lives out in my personal and professional practice and support others to discover how it might do the same for them.
